Incinerator operators refer to ‘punching through’ the cold air in the event of temperature inversions. Is fossil fuel on standby to do this, to increase the output temperature of the stack, or do you adjust the other inputs instead?

We are not aware of any such process where any parameters are adjusted to take account of any climatic conditions.
